Message Okay tonight I was driving home on the highway, had to merge onto another so decided to punch it in 2nd gear. Fun while it lasted, boost was building up, then all of a sudden it was like I hit a wall power-wise. No more pull, almost felt like hitting the brakes hard. I didn't have a clue what broke, just hoped I could limp it home and fix it tomorrow. So my Z kept on chugging along, and I took a quick glimpse at my fuel pressure gauge. 20psi. NOT GOOD! I immediatly pulled over and grabbed my fire extinguisher and popped the hood.

Turns out the section of fuel line that I put my fuel pressure sensor tee into, the section coming out of the fuel filter and into the fuel rail, one section coming off the tee popped off slightly. This is the tee I got from Summit, I think its 7/8" but I filed the lips off each side and put on 5/16" fuel line, and crimped them down TIGHT. This is the tee I think Seedyrom recommeded a while back while putting in his fuel pressure sensor, and his method for making it work. Hmm, if it wasn't Seedyrom, then it was another one of the high posters here, someone trusted, just can't remember who for sure.

This is the 2nd time that a fuel line has popped off that damn tee. What's going on? Too high fuel pressure under boost pushes it off (I think I hit about 70psi on my Autometer gauge)? The fuel line is 5/16" from Pepboys, but its the reinforced line with the stitching in the rubber. Summit doesn't make/sell a fuel line sensor tee for 5/16" line.

What are my options for replacing that line with a tee that won't pop off? Stainless steel -AN sized, but I don't know how. From how I understand it, if you use stainless line, you still use the fuel line crimps on the end, the screw-type has to be bought in pre-set lengths. And if there is a stainless steel option, what size line do I get?

How in the world do you guys with fuel pressure gauges tap your fuel system without this stupid problem I'm having???

Rob
